Self Referral

You can directly access the following services without a referral:

  • Fitness for Work: If you are unfit for work due to an acute illness, you can self-certify for the first 5 working days using a Self Certification (SC2) form.
  • Podiatry: You can refer yourself to the local Milton Keynes Podiatry Service. The Milton Keynes podiatry service provides assessment, treatment, and advice for people with skin, nail, or mechanical foot problems and those with diabetes.
  • Counselling Services: Your local counselling service is West Bletchley Wellbeing and Counselling Service.
  • Bereavement Services: You can find bereavement support here.
  • Talking Therapies: You can access Milton Keynes Talking Therapies to help with your mental wellbeing.
  • Children Services (Health Visitors and School Nurses): The Milton Keynes 0-19 Children’s Universal Health Services can support you with your child’s wellbeing. Staff consist of health visitors, school nurses, staff nurses, nursery nurses, healthcare assistants, and administrators. Health visitors and school nurses are all qualified nurses or midwives who have undertaken specialist training in public health, child development, and health needs assessment. You can call them on 01908 725100 Monday to Friday between 9:30am and 4:30pm where there is a duty Health Visitor/School Nurse available to speak to you and help and support you. The service can help with:
    • Feeding/colic
    • Growth and Development
    • Sleeping
    • Behaviour
    • Toileting
    • Postnatal depression
    • Advising on minor illness, home safety, safer sleep, and accident prevention
    • Speech, language, and communication
  • Adult Hearing Tests: If you are over 16 years old and have concerns about hearing loss, contact the Milton Keynes Adult Hearing Service.
  • Speech Therapy for Kids: The Milton Keynes Early Years Speech and Language Therapy Team works with pre-school-age children with speech and language difficulties, in addition to feeding and swallowing difficulties.
  • NHS 111: Get help for your symptoms with NHS 111.
  • Pharmacy First: Get a consultation with your community pharmacist for minor illness. They can prescribe antibiotics if you need them. They are able to see the following conditions:
